Hunger games Chapter 12 Comprehension Questions

1. What is Katniss struggling to find?
Katniss is struggling to find water. All the walking, and running for the past days has gotton her really tired. She hasnt drank water! She's getting dehydrated fast. She needs it really badly so she can survive. When she had peed dark brown urine; that was a big sign that that wasnt healthy. She needs to get it fast! The only place she knos there is water; she cant go to it because thats where she thinks the careers are camping out at. She comes up with the idea of probably folling an animal or something because she knows they find water. 

2. In what ways is Katniss “playing the game”?
Katniss is playing the game by being one step ahead of it all.  She doesn’t want to act confused or puzzled about the whole thing about Peeta fighting with the careers. She wants to acts as if she already knows and has nothing against it. She doesnt want to show any emotion towards it. 

3. Why doesn’t Haymitch send Katniss water?
Haymitch doesnt send Katniss water because he knows she's close to it and knows that she will eventually find it. She continues looking for water because he's not giving it to her. Katniss starts to think that he's not sending her water because he hates her and maybe he's probably drunk But then again he might juss be sending her a sign.  She later on findd a pond and realizes Haymitch was right.
