Hunger games Chapter 11 Comprehension Questions

1. What is the Cornucopia?
The Cornucopia is a giant golden horn. Its shaped like a big basket. its mouth is at least 20 feet tall. Inside remains food and supplies for the tributes. These things will help them during the games. To reach it they must hurry as fast as possible to get any supplies.. But all together they must battle it out with eachother.  Who ever reaches it (or not) may be able to get these supplies. 

2. How does Katniss make it into the woods? What weapons does she choose? Why?
Katniss makes it into the woods by running as fast as she could. She had her eye on the bow and arrows but suddenly got distracted by Peeta, and was unable to get it because it was to risky. She was only able to get the closest things by her which was: a piece of plastic, a loaf of bread and a bright orange backpack. while going for the backback, another boy tribute was pulling at it too.  As struggling for it, a girl tribute throws a knife directly at the boys back killing him.  She aims for Katniss too but luckily misses her, and the knife hits her backback. This gives Katniss an extra item to take. 
  
3. Why is Katniss angry at the tribute who starts the fire? Who is hunting in the pack?
Katniss is angry at the boy tribute for making a fire because it gives the other tributes a sign of where they are. It makes them an obvious target. This puts her life and the other tribute in danger. She thinks she's the dumbest person ever, because who who would do that at this time in the night.  The careers of district 1, 2, and 4 are in the pack, including Peeta. Which are two boys and three girls.

"A boy, I think from District 9, reaches the pack at the same time I do and for a brief time we grapple for it and then he coughs, splattering my face with blood. i stagger back, repulsed by the warm, sticky spray. Then the boy slips to the ground. That's when I see the knife in his back."  pg. 150
